웨스트민스터대학교

웨스트민스터대학교는 영국 잉글랜드 런던에 있는 공립 연구대학교입니다. 1838년에 Royal Polytechnic Institution으로 설립되었습니다.

영국에서 최초로 문을 연 폴리테크닉 대학으로 1839년 8월에 왕실 현장을 공식적으로 받았고, 1992년에 웨스트민스터 대학이 되었습니다.

웨스트민스터 대학의 메인 캠퍼스는 런던 중심부의 리젠트 스트리트에 위치해있으며, Marylebone과 Fitzrovia, Harrow에도 캠퍼스가 있습니다.

또한, 우즈베키스탄의 타슈켄트에서 웨스트민스터 국제 대학교가 운영되고 있습니다.

웨스트민스터대학교는3개 대학(College and School)에 각 4개의 학부(School)씩 총 12개의 학부가 편제되어 있습니다.

산하에는 65여 개의 학과와 연구소 등이 있으며, 학사와 석박사 학위과정, 전문직업 및 단기과정이 다양하게 제공되고 있습니다.

156년 이산 첨단기술 및 현대적인 전문 역량의 개발을 주도해 오고 영국과 전세계의 젊은이들에게 세계적 수준의 교육을 제공하는 것으로 평판을 쌓아왔습니다.

2005년에는 영예로운 국제 교류 진흥 여왕 포상 (Queen’s Award for Enterprise in international Trade)을 다시 한번 수상함으로써 국제적인 면모를 또 다시 인정받았습니다.

영국 및 국제산업계와 긴밀한 연계를 유지하고 있으며, 새로운 교과와 자격증 과정 (course and qualification)을 고안하는 데 있어 해당 분야의 전문성을 적절히 응용하고 있습니다.
